Strategic Supply Chain Management: the Five Disciplines for Top Performance By Shoshanah Cohen, Joseph Roussel McGraw Hill Professional Supply chain management as a field of study and practice has come a long way, though the field is over 150 years old. A book on supply chain strategy would definitely go beyond theory and also would add something very new to the collective knowledge. After reading this book, I really appreciate the authors’ depth and breadth of experience. Numerous examples are cited in it from diverse industries, explaining what is unique in their supply chains. Cases like Zara, HP, Wal Mart and Lilly are often cited to make very important points.
